Come on down for a great evening of Seattle Cider sampling! This is the Portland release party for their New England-style oaked Maple. Fermented with raisins and oak chips, this semi-dry cider is backsweetened with pure Vermont maple syrup. Available first at this release party. ABV of 6.9%.
You’ll also get to taste an item not available in Portland outside of Bushwhacker, Vintage Washington Heirloom cider. And there will be at least one exceptional Seattle cider on draft, so keep your eyes peeled to find out if it will be the Wildflower Honey, red wine barrel-aged Pacific Northwest Berry, or gin barrel-aged Gin Botanical…
The Finnriver Farm experience is coming to SE Portland with a selection of specialty limited release bottles and draft offerings that are usually only available on the farm.
Bushwhacker will host cider lovers in exploring the lesser known Finnriver selections that their crew is dreaming up and fermenting. This will be a ticketed event with limited quantities available, as most of these are items only available up on the farm in Port Townsend.
Ticketed sampling to include:
A Finnriver logo’d glass
Berry Barrel Sour
Limited quantities available for purchase:
Perry, 375 mL bottle
Cyser, for pints or growlers
Pomme & Stone, 375 mL and in pints or growlers
Forest Ginger, 500 mL and in pints or growlers
Finnriver is an organic family farm and an artisan cidery producing handcrafted hard ciders and fruit wines. We farm and ferment on over 80 acres along a restored salmon stream in the Chimacum Valley, south of Port Townsend on the north Olympic Peninsula of Washington and are honored to be on the forefront of the Pacific Northwest craft hard cider revival.
Celebrate a special evening with the makers of Alpenfire Cider from Port Townsend, WA! Valentine’s Day will be the release of the 2013 Smoke and 2013 Dungeness. You’ll also be able to sample a vertical tasting of 2012 Ember with the new 2013 Ember, try a new Apple Walnut pommeau (which won’t be available in bottles for another year yet) and we’ll offer on draft Apple of My Eye. Bear and Nancy will be on hand to talk you through their excellent, organic offerings and talk about their orchard, ciders, vinegars, etc.
Your $15 ticket will include:
An Alpenfire glass
Apple Walnut Pommeau
This is a ticketed event with only 50 openings. Tickets sold at the door as a first come, first served basis.
You’ll also be able to purchase some of their swag and vinegars. Please see Bear and Nancy for those items, available in Portland only during this event.
A little about the cidery:
Alpenfire was among the first cider apple based cideries in Washington State and the first certified organic cidery in the Northwest. We love the challenge of working with these incredible apples to create traditional style ciders without the aid of sulfites or processing agents. Using blackberries, spirits barrels and nontraditional fermentation styles to create northwest style ciders just adds to the fun.
Seattle comes in, and we let them take over the bar for the night. I’ll let Eric from Seattle pick our draft line up, create cocktails, and also help with some special menu items for the night. Look for some great, rare draft from Seattle. We will also be having a one night only tasting tray, featuring their Heritage Series of ciders.
Join us to try 5 different new ciders presented by A & B Imports. They will be sampling the Bonny Doon Querry from California, a Pear, Apple & Quince cider. Plus you can taste 4 new French ciders, the Domaine de la Minotiere Brut, Domaine de la Minotiere Doux, Manoir de Grandouet Fermier Brut, & Manoir de Grandouet Pays d’Auge.
This will be a unique tasting you aren’t going to want to miss!
